The holiday season has arrived and many of us are planning our holiday menus. If you are looking for a unique drink as a special addition to a festive meal, or to serve as a stand-alone drink, then this is a recipe you might find appealing.

Hunza raisins are the star ingredients. These one-of-a-kind, organic sun-dried golden, sometimes with a slight greenish hue, raisins are one of the treasured fruits that come from the Himalayas.

The rich and creamy consistency of this drink is reminiscent of a nog drink; it is a perfect dairy-free alternative with a delicious taste.

Add holiday flavor to this drink with a dash of cinnamon, nutmeg, or take the uniqueness a bit further with a sprinkle of sweet Garam Masala spice mix, and curl up near a fireplace and enjoy.

This drink is rich and filling, one serve can be divided to serve two or more in small glassware. Going the other direction, this recipe can easily be doubled or tripled. Serve this drink in a mug, pretty stemware, cordial glasses, or pour into shoot glasses and pass around.

1 cup almond milk, basic nut milk recipe
½ cup Hunza raisins, soaked for 10 minute, then rinse
2 Medjool dates, pitted

Prepare the almond milk. Blend all the ingredients in a blender until liquefied and smooth.

Ingrid, this sounds and looks wonderful! Mmmm! I can pretend I am in Tibet. But since I’m not, where can I score some Hunza raisins?

Earthmother - you reminded me of what I planned on doing - adding a link source for Hunza raisins. I’ve updated this post with a link, thanks.

I score Hunza raisins online at The Raw Choice. Also, Natural Zing carries them.
