Natural Zing

One of my favorite online sources for organic, raw, vegan food is Natural Zing!

You may have already discovered my fondness for Natural Zing from clicking on a link or two within my recipe posts, like this one or this one, which lead you to a particular item in their online market.

I’m always thrilled to receive a package from them and to stock up my kitchen pantry with a number of their outstanding products. Shopping at Natural Zing, you’ll find a multitude of raw, living, and organic foods, health products, kitchen tools, books, videos, fantastic services, and more to support your healthy lifestyle.

As part of our 1st Annual Healthy Holiday Giveaway, Jeff Rose, owner and CEO of Natural Zing reached into his bag of holiday goodies and pulled out four (4) $25.00 Natural Zing gift certificates!

I give many heartfelt thanks to Jeff for his generous contribution to Raw Epicurean readers.

Now, if the words Natural Zing, don’t inspire visions of Cacao and Goji Berries dancing in your head, I don’t know what will.

I often wonder what natural foods and food products others like to buy or would like to know more about, so I’d like to ask,

What natural foods or food products from Natural Zing’s online market would you like to see featured here on Raw Epicurean?

Answering this question enters you in the draw for one of four (4) $25.00 Natural Zing gift certificate!

I’ve proudly added a Natural Zing badge to my sidebar. Feel free to click, browse and get ideas on what to add to your raw food pantry.

I would love to see raw nori rolls featured. I’ve seen several different versions of this dish and would love to see Raw Epicurean’s version of it!

Hi Cheris and welcome! I’ve got a raw nori roll recipe I think you’ll love. I’ll post it later this month!

As I am craving heavier foods in these winter month, it would be wonderful to have some easy recipes for wheat berries and amaranth.

Hi and welcome Marmar1028! – Yeah, I’ve heard and read comments from many raw foodists that the cold winter months can be challenging for some to maintain a raw food diet. We’ll add more recipe featuring sprouted wheat berries, amaranth, and quinoa too.

How about featuring goji berries, I don’t know much about them.

  4. courtneykorinne on December 2, 2008 Tuesday, 3:00 pm

I’d be interested in learning more about mesquite and how to incorporate it into dishes.

Hi Courtney and welcome! – You can use mesquite power in various recipes. I’ve used it in a few of my smoothies, and I’m looking forward to experimenting with it more.

I’m so glad you stopped by my blog and made the raw “fried” rice! Isn’t it tasty?

I would love to see some reviews of Natural Zing’s raw desserts or raw cereals. Those things are always intruiging.

Hi Paulina – That makes two of us! I had all the ingredients, it was easy to make, it worked out perfect. Product reviews is a great suggestion. Thank you.

Hm…I would have to say raw cocoa butter. I honestly don’t know what it would be used for and don’t remember seeing it in recipes. Is it for eating, or for putting on your body?

Also interested in raw olives. This might sound naive, but does that mean most olives are NOT raw? I don’t know much about the olive process.

Hi Jessica – :-) I use cacao nibs and have a block of dark chocolate organic cacao butter, but I have yet to experience using raw cacao butter that is like white chocolate. Evidently, you can use it as a body moisturizer, according to what is says on Natural Zing’s site. What a great smelling moisturizer that would be.

I just love olives. Most olives go through a curing process. I believe true raw olive are sun-dried olive. We’ll have to look into it more.

  7. Carmella on December 2, 2008 Tuesday, 4:09 pm

Oh yay! I only recently discovered their products (if you can believe it). The cacao powder is amazing!

I have heard about how yacon syrup is a healthier choice when it comes to sweeteners. I have a bottle at home, and would love to get ideas as to how best to use it.

    ;-)

Hey Carmi! No way, how is that possible? I can’t believe you’ve only recently discovered NZ products. Yacon syrup and also Lucuma is used as an alternative sweetener.

I often hear Shannonmarie (rawdorable) talking about Natural Zing. I see that they sell Artisana’s Amazon Bliss, and I’d love love love a way to use it. On it’s own, I find it unpalatable, and I’ve tried mixing it with cacao powder and more sweetener, with no success. I’d hate to throw out the jar and appreciate any ideas! Thanks Ingrid!

Hello Heathy! What a fabulous surprise! Thanks for stopping by and congratulation on the release of your new ebook! :-) Artisan’s Amazon Bliss, this is one product I have yet to try, so I don’t have any suggestions to offer except one ~ don’t throw it out! The mixture does sounds interesting though. I’m curious to try it.

  9. Hannah on December 2, 2008 Tuesday, 6:26 pm

Ooh, the Sproutman hemp sprouting bag! (I’m obsessed with mine).

Hi Hannah – I checked it out, that’s one fine looking sprout bag.

  10. Isle Dance on December 2, 2008 Tuesday, 8:24 pm

    Oh…good question!

I’d love to learn more about raw olives, raw salts and raw coconut/cocoa butters.

And goodness, what a fantastic thing you’re doing, teaching us where to go to get great stuff!

    :o)

Isle Dance – I’m really curious to learn more about raw olives too.

I have only heard wonderful things about Jeff Rose and Natural Zing. I hope to have the opportunity to meet him one day…maybe even attend his Living Thanksgiving Feast!

I know Natural Zing carries a number of Hemp products – powders, oils, seeds, butters, even clothing. I’ve never tried Hemp anything. I’d love to see Raw Epicurean feature it in some recipes or talk about its benefits.

Hi Earthmother – Hemp seed nuts are an excellent source of complete protein, to name just one benefit! I’ve got two bags on hand that I keep stored in the refrigerator. We’ll definitely feature hemp foods/products in the near future.

  12. Charissa on December 2, 2008 Tuesday, 9:41 pm

I would love to see more stuff about lucuma powder…hear about it’s nutritional benefits and recipes and smoothies to include it in. I bought of the Natural Zing brand and am looking forward to using more of it.

Charissa – Lucuma powder is great! Been using it a lot lately, especially in smoothies.

I would like Raw Epicurean to feature Alaria/Wakame from Natural Zing. I’ve seen this ingredient mentioned in recipes, but I would like to know how people are using this ingredient for nutrition purposes and for taste. Thank you – I love Raw Epicurean.

Welcome Jennifer and thanks for the great idea! :-)

  16. Coffee and Vanilla on December 3, 2008 Wednesday, 12:45 pm

Ingrid, thank you for your comment on my site.
Szechuen pepper I bought is from Fiddes Payne brand and is available for instance in Budgens here in UK.
    Enjoy your day, Margot

Hi Margot – thanks for stopping by and for your source info!

  17. Katia on December 3, 2008 Wednesday, 12:47 pm

Your blog and recipes and photos are simply amazing! Personally, I would love to try mesquite powder and lucuma powder but most of all I think you can NEVER go wrong with raw cacao/powder nibs! :)

Hi Katia and welcome! Thank you for your suggestion and the lovely compliment. :-)

  18. Char on December 3, 2008 Wednesday, 5:50 pm

Ingrid, I’d love to see a feature on red maca and what you can do with it.

Hi Char – I’ve heard of Red Maca, haven’t worked with it. I’ll look into that. Thanks.

  19. Sarah on December 3, 2008 Wednesday, 6:20 pm

What natural foods or food products from Natural Zing’s online market would you like to see featured here on Raw Epicurean?

    Oh that’s easy. Purple Corn….

NaturalZing’s Raw Organic Purple Corn Kernels. Heirloom, Sproutable.

I would love to know how many wonderful things I can do with this product and how *good* they are for me!

    Thanks for asking!

Welcome Sarah! Raw Organic Purple Corn Kernels, now that’s exciting new territory. Great suggestion!

I would be interested in seeing some goji berries featured. i see them in my health food store all the time but have no idea what to do with them.
I’d also love to see some raw recipes for winter eats. This is a hard time of year, for us in the colder climates) to be raw, so I’d love some fresh inspiration.

Hi Christiane – okay, goji berries, winter eats, will work on something for you. Thanks.

  21. Springfairy on December 9, 2008 Tuesday, 12:09 pm

Fresh Irish Moss (I’m at a loss what to do with it), chlorella (interested in what is the healthy amount to eat), inca berries and yacon syrup.

  22. Umm Nassim on December 11, 2008 Thursday, 12:25 pm

Oils! I would love to know more about the different kind of oils and their special characteristics. I also wondered if anyone has tried Argan Oil in their raw kitchen yet…it’s delicious and maybe a great addition to Natural Zing’s product line!

Hi Umm Nassim! Yes, I was introduced to Argan oil while I was living in Budapest. I like its rich nutty flavor. The only thing it is “lightly” toasted, this method evidently brings out it characteristic flavor. I’m not certain to what temperature it is toasted. Do you know of a good source? Thanks for visiting! :-)

  23. Umm Nassim on December 12, 2008 Friday, 9:25 am

Hi again! Well, the best way to savor Argan oil is of course to go to Morocco :-) I haven’t bought Argan oil in the States yet. Here’s an article with interesting links http://www.al-bab.com/maroc/env/argan.htm. I still want to find out about the “slightly roasted”, though! You have a great site!
