Hi. Add me to the gadget queens list! What was the cost of your truffle shaver?

Hi Strix - I paid around $40.00 for an authentic handmade in Italy truffle shavers from Sur La Table, but you can purchase one for around half the price ~ $20.00 at Surfas or Amazon. If you decide to buy one, I'd be interested to know how you use it and how you like using it.

Hey I,
How does this compare to a mandoline?
looks fun, but maybe a little dangerous?
deb

Hi Deb - I love my truffle slicer and mandoline. Both are slicing tools and both a have the ability to make shaving, etc. when the blade is adjusted or in the case of the mandoline, switched. Overall the mandoline is more useful, but the truffle slicer has a place and is great for quick and smaller jobs. Any sharp tool can be dangerous if not handled properly. When using a truffle slicers to slice truffles or other things, be focused and present and work with caution as you would with a knife or mandoline.
