		<description>Sometimes I do buy the fresh bay leaves from the store - they last for months in the fridge! I use bay leaves (fresh or dried) when I cook beans because it really makes the beans easier to digest. Often, I use kombu seaweed and bay leaves together for cooking beans - both traditionally used in cooking beans for better digestibility.</description>

		<description>You can also crush a fresh leaf of bay and put it in granulated sweetener (sugar, for some)for 3 weeks or so and it will absorb the flavor.  A local garden club made cookies and used the sugar on top for bay cookies.
