Thank you for your kind comments on Brian aka Chef BeLive's interview and for taking the time to participate in this giveaway drawing for a Microplane Zester. Also, thank you for sharing your story when asked At what point where you hooked on raw, or at least intrigued enough to try it? I enjoyed reading each entry. Now it is time to announce the winner of this awesome kitchen tool.

I am please to announce that Ashley Pennington is the winner! Congratulations!!!

This is what Ashley wrote when asked, At what point where you hooked on raw, or at least intrigued enough to try it? :

I first tried raw food at a vegan potluck with my friends, raw mushroom pate. I was not into it. but I tried again at a raw restaurant in st.augustine fl, called Present Moment Cafe, and I was hooked! I have not gone gourmet with my raw uncooking yet because I don’t have very much kitchen equipment (no dehydrator, blender, etc.) but I look forward to the day I can make my own flax crackers and more!

I had known about it for about 20 years and had read Ann Wigmore and co, had taken a living food mini class but yet nothing would do. until I read Fit for Life and decided to give it a try... never went back to "normal life".

A friend of mine introduced me to RAW. I thought I was eating healthy prior to my RAW food experience, but nothing prepared me for the wonderful things you can make. Its a labor of love at times but so worth it!

I enjoyed the interview and I am very encouraged by it! An "alternative" health doctor recommended I become a raw foodist after neurologists had recommended some serious pharmeceuticals to stop extreme pain in my head and ear due to (microwave)damage from my cell phone. I had extreme pain for 6 months and within 2 months on a raw food diet the pain was reduced by 70% and I had more energy (and a 15 pound weight loss).

Because of the holidays (and struggling with getting three young children on a healthier eating plan) I am struggling to stay raw right now (but my body is hating me for falling away). Interviews like this are such an encouragement and I look forward to picking up your cook book and visiting your restaurant when we are in California this January!

I became hooked on raw after my infant son had become extremely ill and our Dr. had us do an "elimination diet". Struggling for more answers or knowledge a friend sent me a recipe for chocolate mousse made without sugar, gluten, dairy, soy, etc. It was healthy, raw, incredibly delicious and I could hardly wait to learn more about this incredible way to treat the body, mind and spirit!
Now I have become an aspiring new Raw food chef and Brian is a true inspiration! Thank you, Brian!
