This time of year is one of my favorites. The holidays are here and there’s lots of fun to be had in the kitchen making sweet treats and savor dishes. I love my little kitchen helpers. Those small tools that make prep work easy and add refined touches to recipes, like my little Microplane helpers.

Microplane offers a whole line of great kitchen tools. I own a classic zester/grater, and a medium ribbon grater from their all-stainless steel professional series. I love my Microplane zester/graters. Every cook should own at least one of these wonderful tools.

We all know things can get hectic with our already busy schedules, especially now during the height of the holidays. In the spirit of the season, Microplane has bundled four of their newest products as a gift for three [3] Raw Epicurean readers. Four new little helpers that will make food prep easy and effortless. 2. Alesha on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 8:46 pm

I don’t yet own a Microplane, but I have heard only good things about them!

Eating raw has been a real test to my hand and wrist muscles. They get quite a workout every day. :o)

Owning these tools would definitely ease some of the stress on my hands and wrists.

Plus they are REALLY pretty!!! :o)

Amaizing giveaways! i have not owned any of the microplane products yet, but have had my eye on them for a while–trying one out would be delightful… especially the peeler, since my favorite that I’ve had for years had recently misteriously disappeared.

    Happy Holidays.

  4. Rebecca on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 9:21 pm

If I had a microplane grater, I would grate vegetables and eat salads until my hands [almost] fell off!

  5. Jess on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 9:25 pm

I don’t have any microplane tools, but I would love to get one so I can expand my culinary skills! And I love that they look to be of the highest quality, most of my tools are pretty cheap and likely to fall apart shortly!

  6. bitt on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 10:12 pm

wow, what a great give-a-way! i love my “classic” microplane. It has helped me get citrus zest quite a bit faster than with my old not-so-good grater. I would love to try those other products too!

  7. Zucchini Breath on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 11:37 pm

I don’t have any Microplane tools yet but I’d love to have some! I cook all our meals from scratch so I spend a lot of time cutting, grating, peeling, etc and these would be a real boon!

I would love to have the microplane peeler. The peeler I have now was made in the 1940s, I think. It’s all metal and digs into my hand, OWWW! This one looks so comfortable.

    Cheers!

  8. Lisa Catania on December 10, 2009 Thursday, 11:58 pm

    Hi,

I would LOVE to own a Microplane anything, since I would liek to learn how to cook and could use some tools that actually work!

  9. Blair on December 11, 2009 Friday, 12:40 am

Can’t say I own any microplane yet, but they look great and I love the easy grip handles. Would love to own some of their tools!

  10. Kristie Lynn on December 11, 2009 Friday, 5:15 am

I have a zester, and I use it all the time because I love citrus flavor in dishes!

  11. Tammy on December 11, 2009 Friday, 6:53 am

    I don’t have a microplane, so I use a knife – can’t say it works all that well!! :-)

  12. Nicole (The Fitness Freak) on December 11, 2009 Friday, 8:46 am

Thank you Microplane AND Ingrid : ) These are so cool! I don’t own any Microplane products but would LOVE pizza cutter or grater, oh who am I kidding, I would LOVE them all : )

Thanks for the chance to win Ingrid! You are always so generous with your giveaways!

    Nicole

  13. Amanda on December 11, 2009 Friday, 11:09 am

I have a microplane zester and it is the best. I use it at least once a day. I would love to win this awesome giveaway!

  14. Angelique on December 11, 2009 Friday, 11:31 am

How generous to giveg away multiple sets! I don’t have any Microplane products but they look great — I like how the handles look ergonomic and comfortable. I’m curious what the serrated peeler is like, looks pretty interesting!

  15. Mindy on December 11, 2009 Friday, 11:55 am

I own the classic zester/grater. I can’t imagine life without it (well, maybe I can, but I sure would miss it in the kitchen). I think it’s the best tool ever for zesting citrus. I also use it for ginger. I don’t have any of the other tools; but they look great, and I would love to win them! Thanks for the opportunity.

  16. Caitlin on December 11, 2009 Friday, 1:03 pm

Ooo, I love my microplane zester! I zest all sorts of citrus delicacies to perfection.

  17. Christin on December 11, 2009 Friday, 2:42 pm

  18. Shannon F. on December 11, 2009 Friday, 4:17 pm

I don’t own any of these products but would love to! They have such great quality and really cut down on time and the possibility of injury.

  19. Earth Mother – In The Raw on December 11, 2009 Friday, 5:30 pm

    Cutest serrated peeler!

I think I told you this before, but my fave Microplane gadget is a classic Zester/Grater I inherited from my Mom. She saw my Dad using one in his workshop, and was all “Hey, I need one of those in my kitchen.” True. It was originally designed for woodworking. She got a new one. Dad got to keep his. Everyone was happy. :D

  20. Michele P. on December 11, 2009 Friday, 7:59 pm

Currently I don’t own any Microplane tools, and to be honest, this is the first I have heard of this brand. I do love what I see, however, and love the ergonomic design of the pizza cutter. I suffer from repetitive strain injury and have had four operations on my rt hand and arm, which kind of prohibits alot of the chopping, grating etc… unless I can recruit a teenager or hubby to help. These tools would be so awesome to try out, they are visually appealing and not too hard on the hands :)

  21. martie on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 1:11 am

I have the long thin microplane, and use it for zesting citrus, shredding fruit, chocolate, and more. They’re great tools!

  22. Kelly on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 10:31 am

I don’t own any Microplane products yet, but I’d love to! Most of my cutting/slicing utensils are okay, but not really high-quality. I know these would do a better job in less time than the ones I currently own!

  23. Carol on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 10:33 am

I don’t own any Microplane products and would like to win because I want to use good quality things in my kitchen, not the junky ones I have now.

  24. brenda helgeson on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 10:57 am

i’ve been dying to try one of these. my sister owns the peeler and loves it

  25. Christiane on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 1:00 pm

I have the classic microplane and absolutely adore it for citrus zest. I don’t think any other grater makes it quite as fluffy!
I would love to win these other pieces to round out the collection!

  26. s on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 1:04 pm

I’ve never used these kitchen tools but they look sleek and easy to use

  27. Darcy B on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 2:03 pm

I peel potatoes several times a week using a dangerous instrument of torture and I have had my eye on the Microplane easy prep straight peeler for some time—with the economy and the holidays I’ve just not been in a position to spend on myself for a rather long time. Thanks for the chance to win.

  28. Alicia on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 2:22 pm

I have no microplane items, but a coworker brought one in to grate some cheese for chili dogs. I would love one for that, since I spend a fortune on shredded cheese.

    Thanks for the giveaway >^..^<

  29. Nancy on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 2:36 pm

I would love to own these as I have carpal tunnel and need all the help I can get with making raw foods. I am hoping that the more I eat raw foods my carpal tunnel of 25 years will lessen and maybe even heal.

    Thanks.

  30. Lisa H on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 4:24 pm

I don’t own any yet but have heard only great things about them. They’ve been on my wish list a while.

  31. Joanna Allison on December 12, 2009 Saturday, 6:54 pm

  39. andra on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 5:54 pm

What lovely tools that are being offered in this giveaway :) I currently have a long microplane and I use it for zesting lemons and limes. I do not know much about the other tools. I have no knife skills to speak of LOL so I am up for anything that would help me in the kitchen. andra

  40. Kate on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 6:17 pm

Ooohhhhh… I have been absolutely dying to try a microplane grater and peeler. Since it is the holidays, what a perfect way to top all of my favorite treats that with freshly grated nutmeg and cinnamon! Happy holidays! :)

  41. Shannon on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 7:06 pm

  43. Laura on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 7:43 pm

I do not own any of them, but I would love to. I’m a college student with my first apartment, so I basically have nothing kitchen-useful yet. I’m slowly trying to build up my repetoire. I would love to entertain my friends, and making fun dishes would be infinitely easier with these tools!

  44. Kaysie on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 8:45 pm

I own a classic zester and grater and my favorite uses for it are citrus zest, ginger, and the occasional fresh nutmeg

  45. Alexandrea M on December 13, 2009 Sunday, 8:49 pm

Well I can’t quite answer either question, I have a Microplane Classic Series Premium zester & grater on its way to me now, but it’s not here yet. I put grated citrus in almost every baking recipe as well as all pancakes and french toast I make so I am excited to be getting a replacement for my 20 year old zester I’ve been using since culinary school!
Thank you for the giveaway, I’d love to try more of their tools.
